The International Kalamata Music Days is a classical music festival taking place annually in Kalamata. It is organized by the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata and the FARIS, a Kalamata Municipality Beneficiary Organization. Since its launch in the summer of 2017, the festival has established an international profile, by focusing on promotion of artistic expression and providing support of pedagogical work and music education. The festival organizes masterclasses, seminars and workshops, while concerts and events are held in venues and sites of the Messenian capital and its surrounding area. It is held every year in July.
The Dance festival is the key annual event of the city's International Dance Centre. Founded in 1995, the centre's mission is to support and promote the art of dance via research, education, artistic activities and creativity. The festival brings dancers and companies to Kalamata from all over the world, building bridges to international dance creativity and appealing to a varied audience from Greece and abroad.
